School Closure – Friday 10th March 2023

We have received notice that all schools in Shetland are to close early today due to snow!

We will only be closing slightly early and are expecting the buses to arrive at 2:45pm.

Parents/Carers who are with us for the Jarl Squad visit can take their child/ren home afterwards – please just ensure their class teacher is aware.

If there are any changes to your child’s normal home-time arrangements please email or ring the office before 2:45pm to let us know!

Primary 1/2 trip to Lerwick Observatory

Just to make parents aware that the Primary 1/2 trip to the Lerwick Observatory has been cancelled for health and safety reasons.  The site is very snowy and icy and the staff feel it is safer to postpone rather than go ahead.

Apologies for the last minute information but discussions have been going on and weather dependent.  We hope to rearrange this trip and will inform you in due course as to when it will be.

JRSO

Our Junior Road Safety Officers have been reading to the Nursery children this week, helping them to learn more about staying safe when out and about.  They spent their lunchtimes choosing books and preparing questions to ask the children.   The group want to make sure road safety messages are being shared with everyone in the school.

Our JRSOs are already planning their next whole school event which  looks like a lot of fun!  They will be sharing more information about this soon!
