Hi everyone. It’s Eleanor and P5/7 here with our outstanding, amazing work. Have a look below to see what we’ve been doing this week.
🐊 Roald Dahl Day. For Roald Dahl Day on Monday, we started by taking part in the ‘Enormous Crocodile Challenge’. We had to work in teams to make a crocodile from limited resources. We then were given the choice of ‘The Minpins’ or ‘Esio Trot’ and had to design a cover for it. We enjoyed doing this whilst listening to Fantastic Mr Fox.
.

Writing. For writing this week we’ve been using Aladdin as our stimulus and one of writing tasks was to write a diary entry about walking through the Agrabah market. As we’ve also been getting familiar with Canva, so we used this to create our diary entries.

Super Spelling. One of the activities we did was to go outside and do spelling hopscotch. We had to create hopscotch grids and then write our spelling words in the boxes or spell out the words as we played the game. Some people did spelling races with beads or scrabble tiles, some did sign language spelling and some did fancy letter super sentences.

Big Question – Inheritance. This week we’ve been learning about inherited and learned traits. We played a quiz of Savannah animal statements and whether ‘the thing’ was learned/acquired or inherited. Me and Isla got 12 out of 12 on the quiz which was fun, educational and interesting. We then got to choose a random pair of Savannah animals and then mixed them together to make a new species with different inherited traits. Can you guess the different animal pairs?

Thanks for the reading, have a lovely Friday and enjoy the weekend. 🦁😎😁🌞
