P6/7 has been very busy making our very own cardboard Titanic! We spent approximately 3 weeks constructing it, split up in to lots of different groups. We had to plan it all out and even made it to scale! One of the difficultys was trying to find a way to hoist it up to the wall without it falling down, but we managed to lift it up and attach it to the wall without anything bad happening! We were all very Glad to complete it!

On Thursday morning Primary 6/7 went into the science room and did a couple of experiments. We got into groups of 5 and 6, then we started!
The first experiment, you had to get salt and water and you had to pour the salt into the water to see if it would dissolve, it did dissolve but the water was a bit misty. We did the same to sugar and water and flour and water. The sugar did dissolve in the water and the flour didn’t dissolve in the water it left lumps of flour floating at the top.
This week on Tuesday we learned about microorganisms. We had to work in pairs, and search up a microorganism to draw and write about. The most popular ones were the chicken pox and shingles. YUCK!
On Wednesday we did our kidnapped project. We had to go outside and do a car survey of the car colours on the school ground. The most popular car colour was red and the least was yellow.
This week we have been learning all about volume with our teacher Mr Balfour we used cubes as cm to make shapes we had to make 4 shapes. We made one shape with a volume of 60 and another with a volume of 12 it was very fun.
This week we have discovered mould on our slices of bread from last week. The three mouldiest pieces of bread was the one with the dirty handprint on it, the slice that was scrunched up into a ball and the one that was wetted and put into the dark.
We wrote in our science jotters a table with day 1 to 5 and wrote about how mouldy they were and the difference’s that has happened.
Last week we started our 500 words. We watched a live lesson. It was about when we could set our stories and being able to mix them up in to amazing stories. The hosts were Zoe Ball, Hacker Tdog and Radzi. The Judges were the special guests and they told us how they like to read the stories each year and like to be dragged in to the stories. We look forward to entering our stories in the competition and waiting for the results! by Daisy and Gene
