Supporting new staff to understand Nurturing Approaches in our schools and settings
Good practice will include:
- Visit to Nurture group to observe one running in school/cluster
- Classroom observations of good nurturing practice
- Planned time to build a relationship with pupils who have a high level of need that you may be working with
- Access to the plans/strategies in place for the pupils who require a higher or high level of support including time to discuss these with someone who knows or understand these
- Time with the key contact for Nurture in that schools or setting to discuss and know and understand Nurturing Approaches priorities
- Time to observe Nurturing interventions being delivered and to sit in on some of these
- Time to read and discuss:
