Play on Pedals Training

Thanks to ongoing support from Cycling Scotland, we will be offering another free Play on Pedals training courses on Thursday 21st March at Duns PS, with an opportunity to then either be loaned a fleet of PoP bikes, or to set up a loan share agreement with another nearby early years setting for a fleet of PoP bikes. https://www.cycling.scot/what-we-do/training/play-on-pedals

Please can you let – Gordon.Smith@scotborders.gov.uk – know the name and email address of any interested practitioners you have. Places will initially be issued to those settings who do not currently have trained PoP practitioners, then opened up to settings who already have PoP capability.

Evolve Excursions System – Training for Staff, EVC’s, and HT’s

Evolve Excursions System – Training for Staff, EVC’s, and HT’s

There is a new set of dates on Business World for training on the Evolve Excursion planning system. The three dates are set up separately for Staff users (those who will be planning excursions), Educational Visit Coordinators (those who have responsibility in a school for liaising with staff team around excursions), and HT’s (who have responsibility for approving all excursions). Please go to Business World; Your Employment; Course Catalogue; then search for Evolve and the three courses should then appear. Select relevant course, then (I don’t know why) you need to click the “Search” button twice to get the course details for booking.

Tuesday 5th March, 4pm-5pm, Staff training course

Wednesday 6th March, 4pm-5pm, EVC training course

Thursday 7th March, 4pm-5pm, HT training course

As a reminder, Evolve is the only excursion planning system that SBC schools should be using, and all out of school visits must be captured on it – if the visit is not on Evolve, then the school are operating outside of SBC Excursions Policy.

Any questions please get in touch.
