Coaching for Success Programme Aims

Enhanced capability and desire to:

  • engage in self-evaluation and personal reflection and learning
  • coach in a way that enables higher levels of performance
  • enable others to be more accountable for their role and responsibilities
  • truly listen and to empathise with another person’s view
  • give and receive effective behavioural feedback
  • reflect on ways in which relevant literature has informed thinking and practice
  • greater confidence and commitment to engage in self development and learning and to contribute to others personal development

Apple Learning Coach

As an ALC, teacher leaders will:

  • Act as a coach and mentor to educators using the iPad and other digital tools
  • Support staff to develop their teaching practices using digital technologies.
  • Develop and lead professional learning within your school or cluster.

 To become an ALC, candidates must complete the certified ALC programme:

  • Self-paced online modules (Units 1–6) and reflective portfolio
  • Two days of virtual workshops led by Apple Professional Learning Specialists
  • Final Coaching Portfolio, including a Coaching Action Plan tailored to your setting.
  • Total CLPL is up to 43.5 hours.

To be considered for the ALC programme, candidates must:

  • Have Apple Teacher recognition
  • Be willing to coach at least one educator in a primary, secondary, or local authority setting
  • Have HT / leadership approval

Opportunity to receive 2 hours of fully-funded Professional 1:1 Coaching

We have some exciting news! The Scottish Government has again invested in one-one coaching for educators working across the Scottish education system.

Thanks to this funding, Know You More is offering 2 hours of free wellbeing coaching to education practitioners to help them navigate challenges, build resilience, and improve their wellbeing. Education Practitioners includes staff at all levels working in schools, CLD and ELC in Scotland.

9 out 10 people said they would recommend their coaching experience to a colleague and that’s exactly what we want you to do! By sharing this opportunity with your team and colleagues, you can play a part in making a real difference to wellbeing in Scottish education.

Coaching has far reaching benefits and is an approach which can have a significant impact on how we learn within Scottish education.

Coaching for the PRD

The PL team are hosting a session focusing on coaching skills for the PRD meeting.

The aims of the session are:

-To understand the use of non-directive coaching in relation to PRD/PU process

-To develop coaching skills to identify professional learning needs and the PRD process

-To understand the role of coaching within the PRD process
