Peace Garden – Fisherton Church
Today we started work on the peace garden at Fisherton church. We loved mapping out the shape using our maths skills. We also loved naming all the worms we found!
We hope this will be a peaceful and tranquil place for all to visit. Watch this space for updated pictures!
We also chatted to Rev. Stirling about our refugee crisis project and are looking forward to talking to his colleague who works as a missionary with Syrian refugees.
Great Job
Well done to our high achievers this week.
Kieran got a certificate for his effort in the Tryathlon. Kyle received a Homework Award for showing creativity in his homework and we had 3 Dojo Champs – Cara, Kyle and Nikkita. Well done to you all.
Music – 2018 Term 4
P5-7 are working on 4 great songs for the end of term. Ms Nelson has them singing away and they are now beginning to add various percussion instruments to their performance.
Graffiti Project 2018
In a primary school not far from here, there was a playground wall that needed sprucing up….Tosh to the rescue!!
What the kids said:
It was fun to do the background because you got to do whatever you wanted. When we did the blue background it made it really stand out. I liked being part of it because I love graffiti to look at. I feel proud of myself and glad I got to do this project.
I think the wall is a great thing and I feel really happy I got to do it. The wall looks a lot better than it did before. If we could I wish Tosh would come back again to help us do the other wall.
It was really fun and I wish he could come back again. I liked doing the background and it was fun when we got to do whatever we want all over the place. It fun being in a little group because we usually do things as a class or the whole school. I liked being part of a little group instead. It was just brilliant in general.
Our project was topped off with a visit to Shred skate park in Ayr.
Refugee Crisis Art Gallery
We are creating paintings @FishertonPS for our art exhibition. Each painting will have an accompanying haiku. Our journey towards silver #RRSA has taught us about the difficulties these children face and we want to highlight the problem #ACHILDISACHILD @UNICEF_uk @stevenkidd pic.twitter.com/Q5umQHL4kw

The team we’re fantastic and debated the following:
Against – Banning the sale of energy drinks to U16
Against – Banning school uniforms
For – Banning plastic straws
Mrs H set them a target of linking each argument to an article in the UNCRC and they succeeded .
We're developing our arguing skills today!! 🙈🙈🙈 The kids @FishertonPS are certainly persuasive when they want their voice heard 😂😂😂
'Carrick Cluster Debating Event' should be fun next week! pic.twitter.com/7r7cYwacZJ— MrsH (@MrsHandUs) May 4, 2018
