On World Book Day, Thursday 2nd March 2017 and to celebrate 30 years of Where’s Wally, we will be having a ‘Where’s Wally’ Day of fun and activities in school and in our Early Years Centre.
Feel free to come dressed as Wally or any of his friends or bring your favourite ‘Where’s Wally’ book to school (remember to put your name on it!)
This year we are looking to develop the positive impact that working with families’ has on learning and achievement.
We would like to invite the parents in P5-7 to become a ‘pupil for the day’ on Friday 24th February 2017. You will stay with your child in school that day and share in their leaning and school routine … including lining up and going out to play!
Our last families learn together day for P1-4 parents was a great success and provided many laughs and opportunities for fun!
I have no doubt that this will be an enjoyable and fun filled day for pupils and parents in P5-7.
You should have already received your lunch options, and if you have not returned this yet could you please do so as soon as possible. This will allow us to order your school lunch from the kitchen at Doonfoot Primary.
Please indicate on the form below if you will be able to attend. I look forward to seeing you on Friday.
I would like to extend a warm invitation to all parents, carers and friends of the school to join us for our Christmas Service on Thursday 22nd December at 10am.
“I was very pleased to have been able to attend the Christmas Show this morning. The show was very well thought out with a great theme. Well done to the pupils and staff for making this such an excellent show. A lot of superb talent. Fisherton might be a a small school but it definitely has a big heart. Thanks, you made my day.”

I am looking forward to seeing all the boys, girls, mums, dads and chidlren from the EYC …. and the teachers(!) wearing their Christmas jumpers.
The hall is all set and looks fabulously festive … lunch will be served at 12:!5pm.
Due to staff absence and sickness, I have had to make the difficult decision to postpone our Christmas Nativity Performance.
I appreciate all the hard work the children and staff have put in to the performance and am committed to showcasing this achievement before the Christmas holidays.
It is my intention to re-arrange the nativity for the morning and evening of Tuesday 20th December. Times and ticket arrangements will remain the same, however if you have any difficulties with this please contact the school and we will try to accommodate you.
As always your help and understanding is appreciated and as they say … “the show must go on!”

This week it was great to have our parents become pupils for the day and join us in class to see how we learn.
Parents and families are invited to school on Thursday 24th November at 6pm to find out more about how we teach reading and literacy skills across Fisherton Primary an EYC.
The sessions will be led by Mrs McDowell who will give an over view of early level reading in the EYC. Mrs Eaglesham will give information on the 3 Read approach being delivered to P1 and P2, and, Mrs Hamilton will give an insight into our Book Clubs and Literacy Circles being used in P4-7.
I am certain this will be an informative and enjoyable evening which will help you supprot your child at home and help them develop their reading skills.
