News

The children did so well in their Christmas Nativity last week and all played the instruments so well.  Well done!!

Pupils all completed their reading task in class last week.  We enjoyed hearing about their books and what happened in the beginning, middle and end of the story.

No show and tell check in this week.

On Tuesday 19th December, this week we will have our P2 Christmas party.  We may also have a visit from a special someone!!!  Children can come to school wearing their party clothes but please ensure your child has suitable shoes and warm jacket for outdoor play.

On Wednesday, our last day before the holidays, the children may bring in a small toy to play with.

There are still some Christmas fair decorations available to buy for £1 if you did not manage to get to the fair.

School closes at 2:30 on Wednesday 20th December.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and help so far this year, and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Christmas Jumper Day – Friday 15th December

Please remember to wear a Christmas Jumper, t-shirt or something festive on Friday 15th December and bring a suggested donation of £1 to raise money for Save the Children. Visit the Christmas Jumper Day website to see how your money helps.

The Christmas jumper designs should be handed in on Thursday 14th December. Each entry costs 20p and the winner will be announced at the assembly on Friday. This competition was organised by the Pupil Council.

Symmetry

We have had a wonderfully creative morning in P2C! As we are studying lines of symmetry in maths, this morning we decided to make some symmetrical Christmas cards. Children chose their own shape and design, with some choosing to draw trees while others chose to design baubles or angels. As an added bonus we learned how to say Merry Christmas in French and wrote this on our cards. Ask us all about it! We produced some fabulous work today – Miss Cauley was very impressed. Take a look at our cards.

Wk beg 11th December

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a lovely weekend – please see below for homework and class news.

Homework: Pupils have worked extremely hard this term and I have been very impressed by their dedication and determination. There will be no formal homework this week. Enjoy some rest as we have a very busy week of festivities ahead!

Wordwalls: New wordwalls will be issued in January.

Other News:

Nativity: Primary 2C are looking forward to show day! Our nativity will take place on Thursday 14th December. Pupils should wear a shirt and tie for the performance. They may also wear a Christmas accessory such as boppers, headbands or tinsel. The show will start around 9.30am. Tickets have been issued for the performance – please let me know if you have any queries regarding this.

Christmas Jumper Day: We will be participating in Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 15th December. Donations go to Save the Children.

Engineering Project: In term 3 Primary 2C will be participating in an engineering project. To do this we require shoeboxes (with a seperate lid). If Santa is kind enough to deliver a pair of shoes to your home then any unwanted boxes will be willingly received in the Primary 2C classroom.

We hope to start this project mid way through January and I think it will be a lot of fun!

As always, my door is open for any questions or queries. Thank you and have a lovely week ahead!

Miss Cauley

Nativity Live

Bishopton Primary School will be streaming our nativity performances live on our Twitter feed (technology permitting) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9.30a.m. This will mean that those disappointed by the fact that we can only allocate 2 tickets per family will still be able to watch the performance, albeit remotely.

We hope that friends and family enjoy the opportunity to be part of this special event.
You will find the live stream at https://twitter.com/BishoptonPS

Week Beginning 11th December

Good afternoon!

I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend.

Homework

Because the children have completed their assessments for this term, and since it’s the last full week of this term (and a very busy one at that!) I have decided to  not give any homework this week. I will be collecting in word walls at the end of the week so that the children may have new ones for term 3.

Tomorrow is our Nativity show! Details can be found on your ticket, but it is our hope that we will begin around 9:30am. Your child must wear their white shirt, a tie and a Christmas accessory– even if it is just a bit of tinsel! The children have worked so hard on their performance and cannot wait for their show.

Christmas jumper day is on Friday 15th December.  The children can wear their Christmas jumpers to school.  A donation can be made to Save the children that day if possible. The children can also take part in a design the jumper competition for 20p.  Jumper design sheets will be given out tomorrow if they wish to take part.  Entries should be handed by Thursday so that the winners can be chosen.

Christmas lunch is on Friday 15th December.  All orders have been taken and given to the dinner ladies.  Remember Primary 2 do not need to pay for this as P1-3 are all entitled to free lunches.

Have a lovely week, and we’ll see you tomorrow for the show!
