Golden House Points

Last week in P2a, the first golden house points of the year were awarded to Kate and Jacob for going above and beyond in their writing, and to Aria for her kindness towards a classmate. Congratulations to these three superstars!

Making Wilibot

P1 and 2 children have been very busy at the Tinker table over the past few months making a robot called Wilibot! This has been inspired by the story ‘One Button Benny’ story, written by Alan Windram. He is now ready to visit our classes and the Open area to help us learn how to write our numbers, 2D and 3D shapes. Click on the following video to hear Wilibot talk, and find out how he was made!

P2 Art Club

Sadly, P2 art club has come to an end. The children have enjoyed learning about hot and cold colors, how to sketch and how to mix and blend colours.

Sound of the week : ou

This week for spelling we are learning to spell ou words! Homework should be completed and returned for Thursday please.

P2a Deforestation Protest

As part of our COP26 Environment topic, P2a learned about deforestation. It made us sad and angry that orangutans and other animals are losing their homes. We decided to make signs to tell the big companies to stop damaging the planet and we then held our own classroom protest. We hope you enjoy this video and photos showing how passionately we felt about this!

P2b Halloween Week

This week p2b have been hard at work ordering numbers to 60 using witches hats.

They created their spelling words in a pumpkin patch.

They created a witches potion during a science experiment.

As well as finishing their pumpkins off this week!

Katie Morag’s Island

Last term P2a made a 3D model of the island where Katie Morag lives. We have been reading the Katie Morag series as part of our topic. We enjoyed using different materials to recreate the landscape, buildings, plants and animals. Here is a video where some of the children show you their hard work.
