This week our sound is ‘ea’ which makes the long ‘e’ sound ee. Our tricky words are ‘use’ and ‘an’.

Grammar: a or an

How do you know when to use a or an? Well if the word that comes after starts with a consonant then we use ‘a’ e.g. a car, a horse, a shop, a pencil.  However, if a word begins with a vowel then we use ‘an’ before it e.g. an apple, an elephant, an umbrella.
