RSHP – Monday 23rd May

Today the children are learning about the needs of animals and what we need to do when looking after our pets. Last week we revisited the life cycles of a frog and butterfly. The children enjoyed making their own lifecycle plates.

Spelling Homework Monday 23rd May

Due to the School Trip and holiday weekends this week and next the children’s spelling homework will be issued today and should be returned on Tuesday next week. A letter has been given out to the children to explain this further.

Reading will also be issued over 2 weeks but children should continue to bring their book to school every day (except Thursday!)

Primary 2 RSHP 16th May

Today Primary 2 learned about what the word Empathy meant and what empathetic behaviour involves. The big message was understanding other people’s feelings and taking their feelings into account. We also discussed reasons people fall out and how to resolve arguments.  Big message here was that other people’s emotions are important in relationships not just our own feelings.

Please could you discuss this further at home with your child.

RSHP Tuesday 10th May- Lesson 2

Today the children have learned about the meaning of Private, what our private parts are and the importance of our bodies belonging to us. We looked at the animated clip https://youtu.be/a-5mdt9YN6I which explained what a child should do if someone touches them in a private place. We also listened to the PANTS song.

P.A.N.T.S

Private parts are private

Always remember that your body belongs to you

No means no

Talk about secrets that upset you

Speak up, someone can help
