Maths

fact family is a group of math facts using the same numbers. In the case of addition/subtraction, you use three numbers and get four facts. For example, you can form a fact family using the three numbers 10, 2, and 12:

10 + 2 = 12,

2 + 10 = 12,

12 − 10 = 2,

12 − 2 = 10.

CHALLENGE – Can you make fact families with the following numbers:

a) 7, 3 and 4

b) 9, 5 and 4

c) 10, 8 and 2

d) 15, 4 and 11

e) 18, 5 and 13

f) 25, 10, 15

CHALLENGE 2: Can you make some of your own fact families using numbers?
