Fairtrade at Lunch Club

Two representatives from our Fairtrade Committee attended the ‘Inchinnan Parish Church Thursday Lunch Club’ today.

They set up our Rice Challenge stall to help raise awareness of Fairtrade as well as selling some of our rice. We have sold 50 bags this week already!

Thank you to the Minister Anne Knox and lunch club team for their support as well as the kind donations.

Respect Me

Respect me is a Scottish Anti-Bullying Service.

The Website link is below.

https://respectme.org.uk/

Respectme, Scotland’s anti-bullying service, was launched in March 2007.  The service is fully funded by the Scottish Government and is managed by SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) in partnership with LGBT Youth Scotland.

Their vision is of a respecting, just, equal and inclusive Scotland in which all children and young people can live free from bullying and harassment and are encouraged to reach their full potential. Their work is driven by a focus on children’s rights.

Respectme work with all adults involved in the lives of children and young people to give them the practical skills and confidence to deal with children who are bullied and those who bully others.

They aim to build the capacity of these adults to effect change and challenge bullying and stigma at an individual, school, family, community and societal level. They also campaign at a national level to raise awareness of the service and the impact that bullying can have.

The publications and video resources offer practical advice and guidance for adults and children and young people.

Podcast Club

The Podcast Club are pleased to introduce the first ever Inchinnan Primary Podcast!

On this months episode we discuss all things Inchinnan as well as Valentines Day. The gang will also be finding out ‘What’s in the Box!’ and also what Mrs McGlynn’s favourite pizza topping is. Mmm, sounds tasty right?

Tune in, relax and get ready for this extremely informative and funny podcast. We have worked really hard making this and hope you will enjoy listening!

A podcast is an episodic series of digital audio or video files which a user can download and listen to.

Viva Brazil!

Oi! In Brazil they speak Portuguese! This is because Brazil used to be a Portuguese colony. We investigated some key Portuguese phrases and then translated them into English. We had the challenge that every time you use Portuguese in this class it’s worth 1 house point!

Fairtrade Coffee Event

The Fairtrade Committee had a real busy day preparing for the Fairtrade Coffee Afternoon on Thursday 8th March. The members of the committee spent a morning making cakes for the event.

We are excited to be making cakes!

Councillor Michelle Campbell came to Inchinnan Primary and gave the committee a helping hand on the day and it was a great success.

We made nearly 80 cakes

James and Kiara from the committee were welcoming the parents to our Coffee Afternoon!

This week is the start of our 90kg Rice Challenge Stall. Our committee have two weeks to sell 90 bags of rice. If we sell all the bags, the money raised sends a Malawian Child to High School for a year.

We sold 24 bags already at our coffee afternoon. What a great start!

A raffle  to win Fairtrade Goodies was on sale at the coffee afternoon and over the next couple of days too. It  will be drawn in a week.

It was a very busy afternoon.

Thank you to all who supported the school to raise awareness of Fairtrade and a big thank you also for the donations of home baking.

It is very much appreciated.
