P1/2 had a fabulous time visiting Vane Farm as part of their mini beasts topic. Nursery visited also a couple of weeks before and enjoyed themselves too.
It was super exploring different habitats of mini beasts , particularly the ponds.
We also got to have a picnic and explore around the beautiful grounds of Vane Farm.
Thank you to Mrs Fridge who drove there and who also took us to The Museum of Scotland earlier in the year. A big thank you to Hazel who also came along and helped and Parent Council for helping to pay for the trip too.
It was great to be able to hold our Sports Day again and to have the support of parents and carers there. The children first of all participated in potted sports and then class races such as running races, sack races and potato and spoon race.
We had a fantastic afternoon on Friday 24th. January celebrating everything Scottish!
The children were piped into the hall by Mrs Fridge’s son and then the class winners performed their Scottish poems.
Each class then performed a songs/songs or a Scottish dance.
Mrs Chalamanda and the wonderful Ardoch Strings then performed The Skye Boat song.
Finally the overall class winners of the poetry competition were announced and the Bobby Muir Cup was presented to the overall winner.
Thank you to Mr Mackay and Mrs McGaffney who were our judges, to Mrs Fridge and her son on drums and pipes and thank you to all parents, grandparents and friends of the school who came along!
Nursery and P1/2 performed Wriggly Nativity this Christmas!
Everyone was wonderful and seemed to enjoy themselves performing on stage. The show was opened by the older children singing beautifully some Christmas songs.
Thank you to everyone who came along to support this event and the Parent Council who ran the raffle.
All classes have shared their learning over the term with each other and with their parents and family. It has been really interesting to hear what all the other children have been learning!
