On September 21st we carried out a ‘seaweed survey’ as part of the Orkney International Science Festival (link). This was our first long day of outdoor field work and it’s certainly a type of working we’ll have to turn to again. The children were so focussed on each stage of the survey and demonstrated such a variety of skills, as a teacher the whole day was a real joy. Later
