Film Archive

Over the last two winter terms we have worked hard to produce a ‘movie’ for the Papay community. We started this project having read the wonderful book “The Invention of Hugo Cabret” as a class novel. We have really enjoyed learning about film techniques and trickery, and as you may be able to tell, enjoy the black and white, silent movie, look. If you’re a member of our school community and would like to watch either of our movies please contact us at the school and ask for a secure link and password.

Winter 2021 – Back to the (Papay) Past

Our most recent movie was well received by the island population at this year’s Burn’s Supper. Reaching 17 minutes in length, this was a clip show based around the historic school log books and days of the past. With local celebrities featuring it was a real hit. We were kindly supported by local musicians Jen Austin and Eric Linklater, who recorded a variety of ‘musical moods’ for us to use throughout. We couldn’t be more thankful – the piece of music above is called the Pineapple Polka.

Winter 2020 – Night at the School

Our first movie in Winter 2020 was a bit of a play on Night at the Museum. This was a comedy and the children excelled in acting out what might happen if they were left to their own devices for a night.
