Home Grown Lunch On The First Day Back At School

(A quick post from the pupils to start the new term… It’s been amazing to see the fruit of last terms efforts. The cucumber was particularly tasty!)

After break today we picked some tomatoes for our lunch. We also picked spinach, a variety of lettuces and cucumber. There are lots of things in the greenhouse and most things have grown. The strawberries have stopped growing, and the plant has produced all the strawberries it can this year.

Some of the sunflowers flowered over the summer, and some have reached the roof of the greenhouse and are starting to flower. The ones that were taken outside are starting to fall over due to the wind, but they are adapting and turning to face the sun.

At lunch, the salad was so good. We had pasta with it and cake for pudding. The salad was great because it was home grown, and it was prepared by us. We look forward to picking our tatties over the days ahead and having them for our lunch. This means we won’t have to buy so much food for lunch any more.
