Pancake Breakfast

Well done to all of our pupils for putting on a fantastic pancake breakfast for our friends and families. All classes provided entertainment by singing some assembly songs. Our house captains and members of the Pupil Action Group acted as hosts and waiters/waitresses ensuring all who attended got a freshly made pancake.

Fort Marmion Play Area

In September the Pupil Action Group were involved in helping design a play area. We have received the final plans after taking all the children’s ideas into consideration.

JRSO Assembly

Our JRSOs put on a fanstartic assembly. They showed children how to identify hazards, how to cross the road safely, the importance of wearing bright clothing, belting up in the car and how to keep themselves and others safe.

They followed up with a quiz and some fun challenges for house points!

Article 17 – You have the right to get information that is important to your well-being, from radio, newspaper, books, computers and other sources. Adults should make sure that the information you are getting is not harmful, and help you find and understand the information you need.

Assembly Awards

DWell done to some of  our fabulous pupils sharing their success this week.

Well done to this girl for getting a trophy for Athlete of the week. Working on her javelin throwing and long distance running.

This girl was dancer of the week for putting in effort and learning all of her dance mover.

Well done to four of our primary 6/7 children for going to another school and teaching a lesson about friction. They explained the activity and the science behind it and then led the learning in small groups through engaging experiments.

Fairtrade t-shirt design

Woodlands Got Talent

Today we had our annual talent show. The boys and girls showcased their skills to earn house points and be crowned Woodlands Got Talent winner 2020.

We had 3 awesome  judges!

We had Woodlands answer to Ant and Dec!

And we had some amazing pupil performances!

The judges thought hard and debated their favourite acts. Eventually they managed to agree on the top 3 acts!

Well done to all of our performers for putting an an excellent show. Great effort and confidence to make an amazing afternoon for all.

Youth Activists

Our house and vice-house captains have been researching youth activists across the world. They looked at influential young people and shared what they had learned with the school.

Our first pair researched Greta Thunberg. She is from Swedon  and is an  environmental activist on climate change.  She is known internationally for campaigning  to start immediate action to address the climate crisis.

Next we learned about Asean Johnson. He is a youth activist who at the age of nine spoke at a rally in Chicago to protest about the closure of 54 public schools.  He believes in educational equality and that children must stand up for their right to be educated.

Article 28 – You have the right to a good quality education. You should be encouraged to go to school to the highest level you can.

Article 29 – Your education should help you use and develop your talents and abilities. It should also help you learn to live peacefully,protect the environment and respect other people.

 

British Transport Police

Today the boys and girls had a visit from the British Transport Police.  They explained the dangers of the railway and what we can do to keep ourselves, our families and our pets safe.

Snowball Madness

It’s that time of year again! The boys and girls engaged in some snowball madness. Lots of different fun games washed down with a cookie and a hot chocolate.
