Marmian Road Play Park

We used our house campfires at assembly so that children could exercise their pupil voice on the redevelopment of Marmian Road play park. Children considered what would be good for children aged up to 5, from age 5 – 12 and what resources/equipment would be good for children who need a bit more support.

Active – Article 3 : All adults should do what is best for you. When adults make decisions, they should think about how their decisions will affect children.

Article 12: You have the right to give your opinion, and for adults to listen and take it seriously.

 

Snowball madness

Primary 1-3 enjoyed their snowball madness after school session. I think they enjoyed aiming at the teachers a bit too much!

Primary 4-5 then had their turn on Wednesday. Some fantastic throwing arms in this group!

Finally primary 6 and 7 engaged in the snowball madness. Plenty of fun and games. Especially the slow motion, left arms only and pupils vs teacher rounds!!

Clean environment vs polluted environment

Primary 7 and 6/7 are learning about green spaces to exercise and play in. They considered what places are safe in and around the school and the areas where they live. We thought how this would impact on our Outright mascot Paddington, we considered his home in Peru, comparing it to London.

Outright 2018 Clean Air Quiz

Pupils participated in the clean air quiz as part of the house assembly. They thought about the statement and answered true or false to each one.

Thank you

During the school nativity performance staff at Woodlands Primary School wore fancy socks or slippers for the charity CHAS. We managed to raise an amazing £250. We’d like to say a massive thank you to staff and parents for their kind donations.

Christmas Jumper Day

Wow, we’d like to say a massive thank you for the foodbank donations given on Christmas Jumper Day. 10 massive boxes of goodies to share with families in our community.

Movie Night

Woodlands Primary School organised our first Christmas Cinema.

First children selected their all time favourite Christmas movies. We then voted and narrowed them down to 5.

Children enjoyed a hotdog, popcorn and a drink while enjoying a Christmas film of their choice.

Wastebusters!

The Eco committee’s assembly was fantastic today. It explained what we can do as a school to reduce lots of waste, from water, litter, energy and food. The committee created videos showing us what we need to do and even had a fantastic Eco wastebuster rap!
