Watch  – Jake the Snake  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtcWXoaA4x8

Can you remember any of the words?  If you can try to make some on your magnetic board, if you have one.  If not use the phoneme word maker that you can print here a-e Phoneme Word Maker,  if you can’t print it just copy the letters onto a blank sheet of paper, cut it up and make the words.  Try to do this each day, if you can.

Remember to use the 5 finger approach – say, make/break, blend, read, write.

Possible Written Tasks – If you can, do one of these each day.

  • Ask a grown up to give you two dictated sentences, remember to tell them they have to include an ‘a-e’ word in each sentence.
  • Pick 3 ‘a-e’ words and write your own super sentences.  Try to include a joining word in each sentence.
  • Read the phoneme story, you can find it on this link. Story of a-e  Find all the ‘a-e’ words and write them into a jotter or piece of paper.  Read again to make sure you’ve found them all.
  • Clap the syllables in the following words – cake, behave, parade, spade, amaze
  • Write 5 words in the elkonin box you got from school, if you don’t have one just click on the link to print one. If you can’t do this don’t worry, just make your own.   Elkonin box
