Nursery Aims

St. Timothy’s is a 50/50 Nursery.

As the Nursery is on site a very successful transition programme is in place using Curriculum for Excellence as the basis for planning Learning and Teaching. “Learning Friends” is our transition programme, which helps our pre-school children become familiar with the primary school environment. Both morning and afternoon children are formed into groups and take part in the “Learning Friends” programme on a regular basis.

The children are so excited at being able to join the Pr.1 classes and teachers for a session every three weeks. Lots of exciting activities have been planned for by the nursery and infant staff. The benefits of this programme both for Pr.1 children and our nursery children are immeasurable and we are delighted to witness the increased confidence children display at this crucial time in their development.

Outdoor Learning is also a strong feature within the Nursery making great use of our well-resourced outdoor area.

  1. Hello,
My son is a primary 4 at St Timothy’s school. His wee sister will be 2 years old in the beginning of the next month. She is very active for her age. I think that will be very good for her to go to the nursery. So I would like to know how can I apply for it. Can I do it online? Many thanks.

  2. Hello, I’m looking to apply my son Joshua to the nursery he’s 3 on may 28th. I’m wondering if there is any spaces available, what the hours would be and if it would be full days or half days? Also if there are any charges for lunch/snack. He’s currently doing his 2 year old placement at daisy daycare however it would be easier for us to get to st Timothys nursery as we only live 5 minutes away. Thanks
