Hello P3/4

WB 27th April 2020

It’s been another sunny day and I hope you are all happy and well. Remember to let me know how you are all getting on by sending a comment, maybe you could ask your mum or dad for help. I have left some new tasks for this week in the School Closure section above.

I am missing you all.

Have a wonderful week.

Some Collated Home Learning Links

Links and Home Learning

Good afternoon everyone,

What a week, already!

If you are like me, it may not be the lack of resources/options/links for activities but instead the sheer volume of them coming from all different sources and locations that is muddying the waters for you!

My house has been a noisy place today as I try to help my own children with their home learning and based on how badly I’ve managed this I think my teaching certificate would be removed if I was assessed!

I’ve been teaching and working in schools for a long time and I am finding completing even small amounts of learning at home one of the biggest challenges of my career so far, so you have my admiration (sometimes sympathy) and definitely my congratulations and thanks for the work you are doing at home. I know you’re doing this and working and caring for loved ones and cleaning/cooking/continually tidying and fending off growing anxieties of your own and your children.

I’m finding the use of multiple devices for my 3 children a logistical impossibility and you can rest assured I know many of you will be finding this a struggle too. That’s why when I say there is no pressure to do it all, every day, I mean it.

I’ve added a link above which should open to a page with lots of links to various curricular areas which I find to be quite user friendly and appropriate for primary aged children. There are links to lots of reading materials for pupils that I know many of you are probably running out of at home ( I’ve shouted “JUST READ ANYTHING!” a few times today). As always, each teacher is adding to the School Closure Work section and you’ll already be able to log in to the likes of Sumdog and Study Ladder so I haven’t included these again.

You should feel at ease and without guilt for making use of the likes of CBeebies, BBCbitesize, BBCScotland and the likes, these are developed by educationalists among others and provide a good source of learning for children. Simply discussing something watched is of value.

I’m hoping to take on board some of my own advice soon about home learning too, I know my children will be hoping I do.

P1/2 Sumdog

Hi boys and girls,

I have now set three challenges on Sumdog! There is a maths challenge for time, one for spelling and one mixed maths challenge. These challenges are open until Friday afternoon.

I will try to go on Sumdog too, so you might get to play in a multiplayer game against me one day!

Sumdog logins are in your home learning packs, please remember to use these so I can see how hard you are all working!

Good luck!

P1/2

Hi boys and girls,

Hope you and your family are all well and that you are able to go outside for a walk or to ride your bike in this lovely sunny weather!

I have put some ideas on the school closure area for you this week, and if you manage to do some that would be great.

Take care,

Mrs Neary 🙂

Primary 2/3

Good Morning boys and girls. I hope you and your families are all well, I am missing you all!

I have posted ideas for your tasks for this week in the school Closure section under Primary 2/3.

There are a few video links so maybe other boys and girls might want to check it out too!

Friday is the start of May, the month of Our Lady so try to pray to Our Lady each day and ask her to help everyone around the world who really need our prayers right now.

Why don’t you try and think of something you could do each day to show Our Lady how much you love her!

Take care boys and girls. God Bless Mrs Slavin x

Hello boys and girls!

I think I have finally figured out how to post in the school closure section so your suggested tasks for this week should be in there😊.  Just click on the ‘school closure’ tab at the top of the page and then scroll down to Primary 5/6.  I would love to hear how you are all getting on!

Take Care, Mrs Allan 👩
