Stem Ambassadors

The STEM committee has a busy year ahead! Our key target is to help create an Outdoor Classroom in the Eco Garden which will provide a range of different contexts for learning STEM in a fun and practical manner.  Not only will this provide lots of great learning opportunities, but it will help us achieve the final stage in our STEM Nation Award journey – Equity and Equality.

Meet our STEM Committee

We are celebrating the start of the new year with news that we have received our STEM Nation Award! Lots of hard work was put into achieving the final stage of ‘Equity and Equality’ and we are delighted to now have full STEM Nation status. Our STEM committee is continuing the fabulous work by participating in the Young STEM Leader programme which will see them delivering lessons to their classes. We will also be adding new resources to our Eco Garden to support our Outdoor Learning in all curricular areas, particularly Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

In January, our STEM committee worked on their Young STEM Leaders booklet today. They learned about interesting STEM jobs and discussed the skills needed for these roles. They then explored the ‘Make Do Kit’ and helped make  people for P1’s People Who Help Us topic.

The STEM committee have been  busy this term working through their Young STEM Leader booklet. They researched inspirational STEM leaders such as David Attenborough, Albert Einstein and Marie Curie. A new plan for the Eco garden has also been discussed with great ideas shared! Fingers crossed for good weather after the Easter break so we can start putting our plans in to action!
