Broad General Education

In S1,S2 and S3, pupils follow a broad general education in line with Curriculum for Excellence. They are given opportunities to develop their skills and competences in Geography, History and Modern Studies. They get a flavour of topics and courses which they will follow more deeply in National Qualification courses in S4,5 and 6. They are introduced to critical thinking skills such as drawing conclusions, detecting bias and exaggeration, map reading, information handling and processing data. Pupils are also given opportunities to debate and participate in initiatives such as mock elections and group tasks which allow expression and helps to build confidence. There are also opportunities, through visits and excursions, to further enhance learning with visits to the Scottish Parliament and geography fieldwork as well as foreign travel opportunities.

Online Learning

The majority of faculties have been using Microsoft Teams to distribute work to pupils.
