S1 start the year doing a project on the Visual Elements which are the building blocks of Art and Design. They look at line, tone, colour pattern, texture shape and form.
Using their knowledge of the Visual elements pupils work on 5 Units throughout the year – Portraiture, Still Life, Packaging Design, Jewellery Design and Ceramics.
