World Book Day 2025

We have had so much fun celebrating Book Week! We have taken part in lots of different activities and got to celebrate World Book Day dressed as our favourite characters. Have a look at some snapshots of what’s been going on.

Digital Self Portraits

Primary 2 took on the challenge of creating a digital portrait. We took selfies, cropped them in half and then inserted them into sketches school. We then used different tools to create the other half of our faces. This was tricky, but our pictures turned out wonderful!

A massive well done to our Choir for performing their wonderful song that they wrote and for Spencer Reid in Primary 5 for performing to us on the drums. You were all fantastic and we loved celebrating your amazing talents.

It was wonderful to see our children so happy for every award winner and to be joined by so many of our families to celebrate the success of our pupils.

We are a Reading School!

Reading Schools is an accreditation programme that is committed to building a reading culture for pupils and their communities.

Did you know? Reading for pleasure is the single most important indicator of a child’s future success!

We have achieved our Core level by building a whole-school reading culture that is fun and empowering. We are currently working towards sustaining this culture by looking ahead to the Silver level.

In St. Lucy’s, we currently have a fantastic group of Reading Leaders who help to plan and implement activities with teachers. There is also a weekly Book Club available for pupils.
