St. Lucy's Primary, LCSC and Nursery Class

Today is the feast day of St Lucy. St Lucy pray for us!

Well done to our wonderful Primary 1 children who performed their nativity on Thursday. They were all fantastic playing their part. Thank you to our Primary 7 helpers who supported our primary 1 children so well! ⭐️

On Thursday we invited our families into the classrooms to see what the children have been learning throughout the term for their big question ‘What is Old?’.
The children discussed their learning with the adults, and took part in different activities to show their knowledge of learning.

Thank you to all the family members who attended this event. We are so proud of our children being such confident individuals.

Thank you to Father Campbell for leading a wonderful mass to celebrate St Lucy’s Day. We would like to say a massive thank you for our chocolate treats too. The children enjoyed a day of fun celebrating our Feast Day 🙏🏻🌟

We also got to enjoy our ‘Santa Saunter’ by spreading Christmas Cheer throughout our community.

Our youngest member of staff and youngest pupils in each class handed out some treats to staff and children to enjoy.

Family friendly Christmas storytime at Abronhill Library this Thursday, 11^th Dec, 6pm!

Free but places are limited, so booking is advised.

Tea, coffee and hot chocolate will be provided free of charge. 

Spotlight on Learning

 Dear Parent/Carer,                                                    

Many thanks to all parents/carers who made suggestions for our next ‘Big Question’ to support our Annual Improvement Priority, focusing on pupil led learning. The question identified by pupils was ‘What is Old?’

You are invited to come and visit your child’s class on Thursday 11^th December for a ‘Spotlight on Learning’ session at the times outlined below-

Primary 1- after the Nativity in St. Lucy’s Church Hall

Primary 2- 7 – 1.45pm

Class 1- 9.30am- 10am    Class 2- 11am-11.30am 

LCSC Classes 3-11 – 2pm-2.30pm

This is an opportunity for your child to showcase his/her learning about ‘What is Old?’ Parents/carers with more than one child in our school are welcome to go between relevant classes.

Spotlight on Learning  – Fill in form

Primary 1 and 2 enjoyed their delicious Christmas Lunch! Thank you to our amazing catering staff who cooked up our yummy food and made our hall lovely and festive!

We would like to say a massive thank you to our families for supporting our Christmas Fayre. We know that this year wasn’t able to happen in our normal Christmas Fayre style, but we appreciate everyone who took the time to pop in and buy some of our wonderful crafts.

Today we enjoyed our Advent Prayer Breakfast.
Our travelling crib and travelling Mary statue also went home with this Primary 1 boy and Primary 7 boy.

Primary 7 loved their STEM workshop!
