Hello Friends- Let’s listen

Hello friends let’s see what we can do to help us listen better.

Your family are going to test you on this and they are going to try to make it tricky for you but we know you have amazing listening skills and can do this.

This is where they will try to catch you out so be ready and make sure your ears are switched on all the time.

  • During a story you will be asked questions about the characters, about where they are, what they are doing, who they are with, what might happen next.
  • When you are watching a program your family are going to pause it every now and then to ask you a question about it. So make sure you are listening to what the characters are saying.
  • When you are running about you family will say STOP then give you an action to do. Such as jump 3 times.
  • When you are playing with your toys your family will ask you question about what you are doing.

Some games to play to help you listen are.

  • Make up a sound tray. Take turns to cover your eyes and see if you can guess what it is you are hearing.
  • Your family or friend will think something in the room or while you are out. Then you have to listen for clues to find it.
  • An easy listening toy you can make for yourself is made with two cups and some string. This is a great toy to make just now because you can make the string long enough that you can play this game while not touching anyone. Use plastic cups they can be easy cleaned.
  • Cover your eyes and just listen wherever you are. You will hear lots of sounds from birds to cars. You can ask who you are with if they recognise some of the sounds you hear. This will be your turn to try and trick them.

Have fun doing amazing listening and remember keep your ears switched on or your family or friends will trick you.

Love and cuddles from All the Ladies xxx
