Hello Nursery Friends- Seeing

Let’s think about our sense of sight.

Seeing and looking it’s what we do with our eyes and that is your sense of sight.

It’s amazing what we look at but don’t really think about seeing because we do it all the time.

Think of all the things we use our eyes for.

Use your eyes to look at the pictures while reading a story or drawing a picture or practising your letters when writing your name.

Use your eyes when you are exploring and experimenting.

Use your eyes to aim and fire at a target.

You could use a magnifying glass to look at tiny things and the patterns on them.

Gather about 5 little things together and put them under a dish towel or a tub. Have a good look at them then ask someone to take one of the things away. If you have been doing good looking you will be able to tell them what is missing. Try it it’s called Kim’s game

Make a telescope or binoculars and go around exploring and finding some objects.

You could pretend to be a pirate or an explorer looking for little things.

You need your sense of sight for nearly everything you do.

Have lots of fun thinking about what you are looking at and what you need your sense of sight for.
