They also brought a lot of their free activities together here:

We know these are strange and uncertain times for all of us – we hope everyone is keeping well. To help anyone teaching remotely or homeschooling, we’ve pulled together all of the free resources we have on offer. From reading guides to colouring-in sheets, our Young Editors Scheme to crafty activities, there’s something for everyone.

Harry Potter: A History of Magic

“Because that’s what Hermione does,” said Ron, shrugging. “When in doubt, go to the library.”
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Not surprisingly, one of my favourite lines in Harry Potter 🙂

However, this time the Library is coming to you.  Harry Potter: A History of Magic was a 2017 exhibition at the British Library in London. It contained all sorts of ‘magical’ objects, bith from history and items created by J.K. Rowling.

You can now explore the exhibition online through Google Arts and Culture, including sections on magical beasts, Jim Kay’s artwork for the illustrated versions of the books, objects that you might find in various Hogwarts classes, and some modern Muggle magic.

James Mayhew #StoryTime4HomeTime

This is a brilliant opportunity to see a fantastic artist and storyteller.

Everyone loves good storytelling, and James Mayhew is a wonderful storyteller and artist (with a lovely collection of ponchos).

James is posting a series of stories on YouTube under the tag  #StoryTime4HomeTime . Sometimes James draws the story as he tells it – come see the amazing upside-down drawing man! – and sometimes he uses stories that he’s written and illustrated himself.

Each post is about 10-15 minutes long and should be suitable for everyone who appreciates a story, but might be especially useful for wee ones.

National Theatre Collection

In response to the school closures caused by Coronavirus, National Theatre is now offering username and password access to the National Theatre Collection. For a temporary period, plays can be accessed remotely ensuring students studying from home can still watch them.

We can’t give out the details live so please contact the school email address for the log in and password if this would be useful.

Free comic offer

You can download this set of free comics (and a colouring book). Very daft and easy to read.
