Borrowing and returning

Please return any books which are due back – they’re needed by other pupils. There are NO fines and you will NOT be in trouble. The scariest thing  will be Mrs Macfadyen smiling and saying thank you.
You can check which books you have borrowed on the Library catalogue using your Library Code – the one you use when you take a book out.

If you can’t remember your code, please ask your English teacher or Mrs Macfadyen.

If you can’t find the books you’ve borrowed, come and tell me. Between us, we’ll work out a solution.
Borrowing

All books and resources leaving the Library must be issued on the library computer. Every pupil has their own Library code.

Each person may borrow up to two books at a time. You are responsible for anything you borrow from the Library.

Keeping books for longer

Books are issued for 2 weeks but can be borrowed for longer.  If you want to keep your books out for another two weeks, please bring them to the Library to be re-issued.

Returning your books

The Library relies on people sharing the resources fairly and honestly.

Please try to return your books on time and in good condition.

All books should be returned to the Library desk. Please do not replace the books on the shelf as the computer (or Mrs Macfadyen) won’t know they’ve been returned.

Overdues, damaged and lost books

Please remember, you are responsible for everything you borrow from the Library.

Mrs Macfadyen will send lists around English classes every so often to remind you to return your books, but you don’t need to wait. If you want a reminder of what books you have on loan, you can check your Library account through the Library catalogue using your Library code.

If you do have overdue books for too long we’ll ask that you don’t take other books home until we sort it all out. You’ll still be able to borrow for class.

If you are worried about anything, please speak to Mrs Macfadyen. There is a simple solution for most problems.
