The Cathedral Pupil Parliament Action Board has been updated as the school’s young entrepreneurs begin planning ahead for the much-anticipated Cathedral Christmas Fayre on Thursday 26th November!
Across their Learning Streets, classes are researching creative Christmas craft ideas as they prepare to design and develop their own enterprise stalls. This exciting initiative will provide valuable opportunities for learners to apply their mathematical skills in real-life contexts, develop their creativity and work collaboratively towards a shared goal. The young entrepreneurs will research craft ideas using websites and other online resources, carefully select their preferred designs and calculate the cost of the materials required. They will also explore pricing strategies, calculate potential costs and profits and consider how to maximise profitability while creating attractive, high-quality products for the Christmas Fayre.
The school’s two Cabinet Secretaries for Finance will take a leading role in overseeing this whole-school priority, working closely with Mrs McLeish to coordinate and place orders for the resources required. Careful planning and organisation will be essential to ensure that materials are sourced in good time, allowing classes to get creative without the last-minute rush of the Christmas season. This initiative will also support Cathedral Fabulous Fundraisers, helping to nurture a strong enterprising spirit across the school community. Through their creativity, teamwork and thoughtful decision-making, learners will contribute to making the Christmas Fayre a successful and enjoyable community event, while supporting fundraising efforts that benefit Cathedral’s learners and their learning environment.
Watch this space for further updates from Cathedral Pupil Parliament, Cathedral Fabulous Fundraisers and Cathedral’s budding young entrepreneurs as they work together to make this year’s Christmas Fayre a huge success.
