Learning about money in real-life contexts

Learners were introduced to the idea that money matters — we use it every day, and understanding how it works helps us make good choices. Working in groups, they explored budgets, costs and value.

Each group was given a mini budget and a list of items they might want to buy. Their challenge was to decide what they could afford and what they might need to leave out. Pupils explained their thinking clearly and discussed different ways to calculate budgets, using their strategies to compare prices, add totals and make sensible financial decisions.
