Fr Lamb visited each Primary 3 class on Friday 7th March to help the children make final preparations for their First Reconciliation, which they will celebrate in the cathedral on Tuesday 11th March.
The children completed a quiz about good and bad choices and Fr Lamb explored with the children if all bad choices are sins. The children reflected on how some bad choices are not necessarily sins, but maybe still aren’t the best of choices.
The children went on to reflect on how the Sacrament of Reconciliation is a good thing as it is an opportunity to say sorry to God and make a commitment to being a better version of ourselves.
Fr Lamb told the children that they are like saints immediately after receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation and that, although we may well sin again, it is important we try our very best to live lives inspired by the saints. He reminded the children of Blessed Carlo Acutis, a young person just like them who made good choices and touched the lives of so many people.
We keep Primary 3 in our prayers in these final days leading up to their First Reconciliation.
Please continue to pray for Pope Francis, as he remains in hospital:
