Good morning P7!
A wee reminder that today is ‘uniform’ day. If you would like to take part then have a look for  your uniform and send us a picture. Lots of schools across Coatbridge are doing the same thing. You can post a picture here or on our class Team. It would be lovely to see them!
Well done to Emma for posting a motivational quote from our Mental Health Awareness tasks over on our class team. If anyone else has one, we would love to see it! If you haven’t seen the tasks yet, here is a reminder of them: Mental Health Awareness May 2020 PDF
This weekend is a long weekend, so a reminder that we are off on Friday and Monday and I will post new learning on Tuesday. Hopefully the sun will come back and you can enjoy some time outside with your families.

I have therefore attached a Health and Wellbeing grid with some fun activities for you to try over the next few days. I would love you to post photos of the activities you complete on our Class Team page!

Uniform Day

Primary 5/6 – Uniform Day

Good Morning Primary 5/6,

I hope we are all having a good week! How are we finding our new grid? Wasn’t yesterday a lovely day? Hopefully we get the same weather for the weekend. Remember tomorrow and Monday are holidays for us so make sure you have lots of fun! I will post new spelling and new Sumdog tasks on Tuesday 26th May.

Remember today is Uniform Day! I am looking forward to see you all in your uniform. This will make an amazing whole school collage!

Archie is finally preferring walking to crawling but I think he enjoys the speed of crawling! He has been enjoying colouring in Peppa Pig pictures. I bought him special pens that don’t come off the paper. We also made brownies this week with salted caramel and honeycomb!

It has been great talking to some of you on Microsoft Teams this week. I miss you all dearly and it has been lovely receiving messages from you. Many of you have added work to you Class Work folder which has been fantastic to see! Remember if you have an trouble getting logged in contact Mr Henderson and he will try his best to support you.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. Miss Davidson posted a great resource on Tuesday! It is a brilliant MindWell Kindness Planner. It has lots of tips and lets you think about how you can take a few minutes out to help you relax or recharge.

I found a fun activity that could be done over our long weekend. It is called a ‘Flat Teacher Adventure’. Do not worry if you can’t print it out. You can always draw a picture of me instead! It would be great to see your pictures of you doing the activities.

Have lots of fun and stay safe,

End Of Week Update

Hi All

Just a wee reminder for those of you who want to join in – tomorrow is a UNIFORM DAY! Like some of the other primary schools  in Coatbridge, we are calling tomorrow a Uniform Day  and asking children to wear their uniform    ( or part of it!) and send photos to their Class Teams ! We hope to be able to make a wee video clip out of the photos and thought it would be a bit of fun and let the children feel a bit connected to each other and our school again!

If we were at school it would be a long weekend for everyone with school holidays scheduled for Friday and Monday. Therefore teachers will be asking you all to focus on Health and Well Being activities over the next few days and full home learning activities will resume on Tuesday .

Of course the teachers will still be checking in to look at comments and photos in their Teams , as they are really enjoying getting a chance to hear from you all. It honestly makes our day when we see the messages, read your emails  or get to speak to some of you on the phone .

As always , please  feel free to email me on-

ht@oldmonkland.n-lanark.sch.uk

I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Enjoy the rest of the sunshine today

Take Care for now

P7 Mental Health Awareness Week

Good morning P7!

As you might know, this week is Mental Health Awareness Week. The theme this year is kindness and I have made some activities for you to try out home.

I keep thinking back to when you shared all those lovely kind notes to each other in class. I wonder if you still have them?

Here is a link to the tasks: Mental Health Awareness May 2020 PDF

One of the activities is to make a motivational quote, I’d love to see some of your efforts posted on our class Team. I gave it a go too!

It’s not too late to join our class Team, would be great to see you there!

Article of the Week – Article 28

Hi Boys and Girls,

This week we are looking at Article 28 – the right to education. Right now children all around the world are off school or some are going back to school to a completely different looking classroom. All the teachers are so proud of how great you are all doing getting your school work done at home!

I have attached another PowerPoint that you and a member of your household can have a look at. There is a variety of activities that you may want to give a try.

Article of the Week – 18th May

It would be great to see some of your activities. You could even try to post these to your teachers on Microsoft Teams.

Stay safe,

Miss Jones
