WHERE EVERY CHILD IS SPECIAL

Primary 1 have had a wonderful first week at school! They have all settled really well and we are really proud of them!

Our first week at school!
In preparation for introducing the Active Literacy programme, we have been doing lots of activities to develop good Listening and Talking skills. As well as a range of tasks to promote the development of early Reading and Writing skills.
In Numeracy we have done lots of counting, played number games on the smartboard and I pads and explored Number 1. We have learned how to correctly form number 1, different ways to make 1 and where it sits on the numberline.
In Health, we have focused on emotional wellbeing. We read stories about a little girl called Lucy who’s hair changes colour depending on her mood. We also read the Bucket Filler story and discussed how we can fill and empty the buckets of others depending on our actions.
For gym we played ring games and action rhymes outdoors. Please remember our gym days are a Tuesday and Thursday. Children should come to school dressed for P.E, they cannot change in the classroom just now.

Well done again boys and girls, enjoy a well deserved rest and I Will see you all on Monday again!
