P7 Personal Interest Project

Hi P7,

Yesterday I mentioned that I would post about a Personal Interest Project. With your Personal Interest Project you can pick anything at all that you are interested in to study. Imagine it being like a mini-topic that we would do in class. But one where you are in charge! Pick your topic and then research it each day using the internet, books, or speaking to people. At the end of next week it would be great to hear all about what you have learned. You can share your learning in any way you like, maybe writing a fact file, a powerpoint, designing a poster, or making a video! Anything at all!

Personal Interest Project PDF

If you let me know what your topic is, I can help find some resources for you too. Maybe we can also work together to think of different fun tasks related to your topic, maybe crafts, games, music or outdoor learning. Would be great to hear what you think. You can post anything about your Personal Interest Project on here or over on our class Team.

Article of the Week – Article 15

Hello boys and girls,

Are we enjoying learning a little bit more about our rights? If you have done any tasks remember to post them on Microsoft Teams to let your teachers see. We love seeing all the different tasks you are doing at home and are so proud with how well you are all doing. Keep up the great work!

This weeks focus is Article 15 – Freedom of Association. This means you have the right to meet other children and join different groups, clubs or organisations. I know lots of you go to a variety of different clubs such as football, dancing, gymnastics or karate. You could send a picture to your teacher of you doing an activity from one of your clubs! That would be super to see!

Stay safe and well,

Primary 2/3

Morning P2/3!

I hope you all had a nice, relaxing weekend at home. I would love to hear what you got up to. Did you try out any of the Health and Well-being activities? I had a go at lots of Maximo’s yoga on Go Noodle. It was lots of fun. I also went for lots of walks around Ravenscraig.

Microsoft Teams

Teams are back up and running today and I will be available again to see your lovely work and catch up with you all. The teachers all have a meeting with Miss McFadden on our Staff Team this Wednesday 10-11.30 am, so I won’t be available during those times, but I will after. Thank you to everyone who took part in our Uniform Day. It was so nice to see so many pupils in our class in their uniforms again. I loved seeing your siblings joining in too! A lot of our class have now logged in and are using Teams but we are still waiting for a few of our classmates to join in too. Please try to log in if you have not already and let us know if you require any assistance getting this up and running. We’re happy to help!

Grace – 141, Mia – 101, Holly – 78,

Oxford Owl

I had posted about Oxford Owl on our Team last week, an online reading resource. I have created a class account for us to use. Instructions for how to log in are available in our Teams ‘Files’ and are attached to this post. For now, I’d like you to try logging in and exploring some books. I’ll be using this resources in future Home Learning Grids.

Try Something New

Here’s a fun idea I thought you might like to try. Even though you are at home just now, why not make a cool pack lunch for yourself? I thought this one was really cute, it’s Jack Jack from “The Incredibles”!

How to make a cute Incredibles 2 inspired Jack-Jack sandwich - perfect for party food or a fun kids lunch box surprise

Looking forward to hearing from you all again on Teams!

Primary 5/6 – 26.06.20

Good morning Primary 5/6,

How was your long weekend? I hope you all had lots of fun and are all doing well. It was very stormy on Friday and Saturday! I was glad that it stopped raining on Sunday to get some fresh air. This weekend, Archie had lots of fun playing with custard and enjoyed trying cheese and tomato pastries that I made. I added ham to mine. They were delicious! Yesterday, we went a very long walk and Archie enjoyed being in his trike. He enjoys seeing dogs and points to every dog he sees. I thought he was very cute holding a flower and onto the handle bars.

Microsoft Teams
I am very impressed that lots of you are now using Microsoft Teams to help you at home with your learning. It has been lovely chatting to you and seeing the impressive work you are doing at home. Many of you tried very hard on our first Microsoft Team Quiz! I have made a new one this week focussing on Australian animals. I have attached the PowerPoint we used in class and the questions will be based from this. I also managed to add pictures to this week’s quiz!

This week, I have set a Time Check Up for you and for Grammar, a practise task on Adjectives.

On our Home Learning Grid, there is a new website for reading called EPIC. A couple of you accessed it last week. I have reattached instructions below on how to access EPIC Reading. Remember our class code is on our Grid.

Primary 2/3

Good morning P2/3!

It’s the last school day today for the week as Friday and Monday are holidays. As it is Mental Health Awareness Week I’ve gathered some Health and Well-being activities you might like to do over the long weekend to help you relax and chill out. If you try any of them, I would love to hear if you enjoyed them on Tuesday. I will upload these to  our Team too.

Uniform Day

Today is uniform day. Remember if you would like to take part, please post a picture of you in your uniform to our Teams page. It would be lovely to see you back in your OMPS uniforms again!

Sum Dog

Well done to the pupils taking part in our Sum Dog challenges. I could not believe it when I logged into Sum Dog on Tuesday to see some people had answered over 400 questions in one day! We also have 11 people in our class taking part in the North Lanarkshire Contest which means we will now appear on the leader board. Our Spelling and Grammar challenges will end on Friday at 12 noon and I will be announcing the winners on Tuesday.

Microsoft Teams

Lots of us are now using Teams to keep in touch. It has been great to hear from so many of you and even see some of the work you have been doing from home. I have been very impressed and I am missing you all very much. It really does make us teachers smile lots when we see our pupils having a good time!

Enjoy the long weekend, I’m hoping it’s a sunny one!

Take care,

Miss Bennett xx
