Digital Survey

Dear Parent/Carer,

Digital approaches to learning and teaching is not just a response to periods of lockdown and complete remote learning.

As we equip your children with the skills for life, learning and work in the 21st Century we know that digital skills are hugely important. Therefore, the use of digital technology is integrated into our teaching in the classroom and we will continue to use Microsoft Teams and other platforms as ways for children to extend their learning at home.

We would be grateful if you could take a few moments to let us know about the devices and access you currently have at home.

Please complete this short survey for each child who attends our school.  Thank you for your ongoing support.

Halloween Costumes

Dear Parent/Carer,

Do you have any unwanted Halloween costumes or accessories?

We are collecting clean, good conditioned items with the view of being able to redistribute these to support families on the lead up to Halloween.

If you can help, please drop off at the school office.

Thank you for your support,

Team Mossend

Continued Learning during isolation

Dear Parents/Carers

If your child is isolating they are able to access the the ‘NLC Virtual Classroom’ that has been created for this very purpose.

Attached to this email you will find two documents, one that displays the correct colour of class to access for each stage and the other is instruction on how to access the classrooms. Your teacher may also post further information on you class Team so please check this regularly. Further to the Virtual Classroom you can complete Sumdog activities that will always be set to your ability.

Many thanks,
Team Mossernd

Comments Off on Covid-19 Safety Reminder

Covid-19 Safety Reminder

Dear Parents and Carers,

Please find attached a Coronavirus Briefing for your information following the recent surge in cases. We would be obliged if you would take some time to read through this carefully.

For some time now we have politely requested that parents drop and go in the mornings, and that parents arrive just a few minutes before their child’s collection time at the end of day, in order to reduce congestion at the school gates. Unfortunately, more often than not, these requests have been disregarded.

We appeal to you once again to be respectful of the guidelines that schools are asked to follow and for the mitigations which are in place. The school grounds cannot be used as a meeting point for parents. Please make arrangements to socialise completely outwith the school grounds. The pavements around the school grounds are narrow and must be as clear as possible to allow parents, and our children, to pass through safely.

Please bear in mind that staff are simply following guidelines if they ask you to wear a mask, or ask you to move along, in order to keep everyone as safe and as healthy as they possibly can.

We wish everyone in our community a safe weekend.

Best Wishes,

Mossend PS and NC

August 2021 – Back to School

Dear Parent/Carer,

What a wonderful first day back!

There is always lots of information to take in at the start of the session, so take a few moments to watch our short video that covers the main points.

Adults should wear a face covering when entering the playground. Please only have 1 adult enter the playground to drop off/pick up children.
The guidance is that anyone entering the playground should wear a face covering and keep a minimum of 1-metre distance from other adults.
Please be mindful of the exits and narrow pavements.

For the next 6 weeks please pre-book an appointment for Friday morning with the main school office, until the Covid-19 restrictions relax.  It is our intention to then be able to offer this as a drop-in session.

Children will have 1 indoor and 1 outdoor PE session but should come to school in their full school uniform each day.  There will be an opportunity to change for PE in school.
