Recovery Plans and FAQ
Good afternoon
Please click on the link below where you will find an updated letter from Derek Brown.
www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/schoolplans
I have also attached an FAQ sheet for your reference.
Attached are the draft plans for Mossend Primary School.
I am sure that will appreciate this is a draft recovery plan as many things will change before our return.
We have been extremely thorough in our planning and have tried to take into consideration potential difficulties for parents and families. We appreciate that returning to school may present a challenge for working families but we have ensured that all siblings are together and children have been placed in working groups where possible.
I will endeavour to provide you with information as soon as I receive it during the school holidays.

School 2020 Souvenir
Dear Parents/Carers,
It has been a memorable year and our great Parent Council are arranging to commemorate this by taking orders for personalised souvenir tea towels/bags which have class-specific pupil names on them. This would be a great memory to keep and look back on in the years to come and cost only £5.00 per design, but a minimum order of 15 is required per class.
If you would like to place an order then please contact Mrs Gardner on our Parent Council directly as soon as possible. Our Parent Council have their own Facebook page and Twitter account.

Staffing Updates – 2020/2021
Good morning
I hope that this email finds you all well and looking forward to the Summer holidays. We have now had our staffing confirmed and I hope to be able to share with you the teacher your child will have in August by the end of the week.
Some of our staff are leaving us and we are incredibly sad to lose them.
Mrs Martin from our Nursery is taking early retirement – we thank Mrs Martin for everything she has done for our children and their families for a number of years. Mrs Martin had been a highly valued member of staff in Mossend Primary and Nursery Class and she will be greatly missed by us all. We wish Mrs Martin a long and happy retirement.
Mr Stewart, Miss Macbeth, Mrs Weir and Mr Malik are also leaving us at the end of term. Although they have only been with us for a short time, they have brought so many strengths to our school. We will miss them all and we wish them every good wish in their new schools.
I will be in touch to provide you with the plan for moving forward in August.
Kindest regards
Mrs Paterson

Parent Council Updates
Dear Parent/Carer,
Our Parent Council are having a Uniform Bank. If any parent has uniform items they would like to donate they should hand them into Andrea Gardner. The items should be washed and placed in a bag. Parents can contact Andrea via the PC Facebook page, Twitter and email.
Also, the Parent Council are having a closed meeting this evening and will ensure all minutes of the meeting are posted to enable everyone to see them.
They will also post details of future meetings which will hopefully allow everyone to log in and join if they wish to do so.
Many thanks

Head Teacher Update
Good morning,
I hope this email finds you all safe and well. It seems such a long time since we had some rain – I am sure that your gardens are all needing some water but hopefully, we will return to sunshine tomorrow.
It was lovely to see so many of you on Friday at our jotter and learning pack giveaway or on our delivery route in the afternoon. Everyone has grown really tall during Lockdown – some of us have unfortunately just grown wider!
We are loving the ribbons on our fence, it really brightens the place up and brings a smile to everyone who passes. Keep them coming!
Our online learning is continuing this week with more exciting activities planned for all stages. Well done to those children who participated last week and a special mention to our award winners! I love seeing all of your projects during the week and it’s always a joy to join you at our Superstars Assembly on a Friday afternoon. Remember this is a four day week due to the bank holiday – who can believe we are nearly at the end of May?
Our local Mosque is offering support to our families who may be struggling during this challenging time. The volunteer team will be delivering food packs and aid to those struggling in our locality. If you or someone you know is in need of these packs or assistance then please contact myself in the first instance and we will make the necessary arrangements.
On behalf of all of the staff, we send you our warmest wishes and look forward to the day when we return to Mossend.
Take care and stay safe

Jotter Giveaway
We will be having a jotter giveaway on Friday morning at Holy Family Primary School between 10:00 am and 11:00 am for those of you who require some additional jotters to complete tasks and activities.
We have a limited number of Learning Packs available for those who cannot access Online Learning. These are the same packs being issued by the Parent Council.
If you are unable to attend on Friday then please email me and I will arrange to leave jotters at the Hub in St JPII in Viewpark or I will email you back to make an alternative arrangement. If you could let me know by 3:00 pm Thursday 14th May to allow me to plan effectively it would be very much appreciated.
I look forward to seeing some of you on Friday. Mrs Paterson.
