Mrs N’s Notes, 1.4.22

When we return after Easter we will be enjoying a Week 1 menu…

Please remember that pupils in P.6 & P.7 who do not qualify fro a free meal should have funds added to their cards BEFORE they order a meal.

FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

We are delighted to be part of the Coatbridge Cluster Football Festival planned for Term 4.  Many thanks to Bargeddie Primary for organising this.  At the moment we have 2 dates planned for April and May.  This week we had trials for our team and Mr Gall plans to share the final team selection this afternoon.  Many thanks to both Mr Gall and Mr Haggarty who were more than happy to give of their time after school this week to allow this to happen.  Thanks also must go to Mr Forbes at St. Timothy’s who kindly gave us use of their all weather pitch.

Everyone who took part should be very proud of their efforts!

COATBRIDGE HIGH TRANSITION

Our P.7 pupils are visiting Coatbridge High School this morning for a sporting event.  I can’t wait to hear all their news when they return.  I am sure they will all make the most of the time they have with their new teachers and classmates.

ASSESSMENTS

As you know our teachers continually assess progress on a daily basis through observations, discussion, jotter work, games, activities, etc.  Assessment is simply a part of every lesson, every day.  For some key-classes there are additional national assessments carried out in the summer term.  These are done using an iPad or laptop and are carried out by P.1, P.4 and P.7 pupils annually.  Please rest assured that these are not done under exam conditions, but are built into daily classwork in order to get a realistic snap-shot of ongoing learning.  These will be slotted into daily work programmes over the coming months.

EASTER HOLIDAY

Can I take this opportunity to thank all our families for their continued support this year.  I hope you enjoy your break.  Today school closes half an hour earlier than normal for our Easter Holiday.  Nursery will remain open until 2.50pm as always.

We all return on Tuesday 19th April at the usual times.

HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE HOLIDAY AND WE’LL SEE YOU IN TERM 4.
