Mrs N’s Notes ~ 18.5.18
What a fabulous Health Week, involving the whole Kirkshaws team. I know I say it often, but Kirkshaws really is a HUGE FAMILY. This week simply wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for everyone playing their part and going above and beyond what was expected of them. MASSIVE thanks to Mr Sharp for his precision planning and creative ideas that allowed our Health Week to be one of the best yet! EVERY member of staff pulled out all stops to make sure our pupils extended knowledge, learned and practised new skills and also had the opportunity to develop personal attributes throughout the wide range of activities on offer. Then there was our Fundraisers group, who kindly donated funds to allow us to create tasty fruity snacks throughout the five days. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU all!
Take time to look at just some of our HEALTHY ADVENTURES…
In addition to all of this, Mr Sharp also taught basic First Aid to all classes, while Miss O’Dowd led each year group in Mindfulness exercises. Our Sports Leaders started their lunchtime clubs, as did our Book Club organisers. Toni, the community gardener, also continued to work with our Green Gang Group, planting around the school.
Our Parent Council has also been busy. At their AGM on Monday evening they made plans for the coming session. I’m sure you will all be delighted to hear that after their success with the installation of the new fences, they are now tackling parking issues around the school. Please give them your support in this new venture which will benefit every single family.
I also must thank all parents and carers who completed our PEF and School Improvements Questionnaire at Parents’ Night. I am currently collating all the results – next time I’m using the app (which will be much easier for us both!).
Remember, there is an open invitation to any parent or carer who would like to be more involved in our improvement planning for the coming session. I am holding a meeting in the library at 9.30am on Monday morning. I’ll even provide tea and coffee… looking forward to seeing some of you then!
