IN-SERVICE STAFF TRAINING DAY
Please remember that both school and nursery will be closed due to an in-service day that will operate across NLC on Monday 14th November.
PARENTS’ NIGHT CHANGES
You may have seen on the news last night that one of the Teachers’ Unions has proposed a strike day on Thursday 24th November. We have no more details at this time, but we realise we need to change our Parents’ Night plans just in case this does go ahead.
We will now plan to meet with you to discuss your child’s progress on the afternoon and evening of WEDNESDAY 23RD NOVEMBER. As previously indicated, the nursery staff will speak to parents during meetings scheduled during the nursery session that same week.
An email has been sent today reminding all parents how to access the online booking system, which will open on Monday evening.
Mrs Canning is absent from work just now, so Room 14’s appointments will be organised for a later date, once she is back to work. A letter to this effect has been sent home already today to those pupils affected.
STAFFING CHANGES
We are delighted to welcome a new temporary member of teaching staff to our team. Miss Flanagan has had the chance to get to know a number of classes over recent weeks, but she is now based in Room 14, covering Mrs Canning’s absence.
PANTOMIME
Just a reminder for your diary, we will be heading to Motherwell on Thursday of next week to see Cinderella…oh yes we will! Pupils can bring a small snack with them to eat during the performance.
We will return to school to eat lunch. Pupils should bring their own packed lunch or order a Pack-a-Snack from the school kitchen IN ADVANCE. (Order forms sent home in bags today, to be returned on Tuesday morning.) There will be no hot meals in the school on this day.
BOOK WEEK SCOTLAND
We will be celebrating Book Week Scotland in school and nursery next week by taking part in a range of fun reading activities. Please encourage your child to read at home too.
