Mrs N’s Notes, 3.12.21

Week 2 menu next week, but remember we have a special menu on Wednesday for CHRISTMAS DINNER!  Pupils should have already ordered their selection for Wednesday.  If your child has not pre-ordered their Christmas Lunch they should bring their own packed lunch (school only).  Please remember, there will be no Pack-a-Snacks available that day.

DECEMBER DATES

Some dates for your diary

If you haven’t done so already, there are some dates here you should pop in your diary.   PARTIES, PANTO, HOLIDAY DATES AND MORE!

CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY

We will hold our annual Christmas Jumper day on Friday 10th December to coincide with our Panto.  All pupils are invited to wear a jumper, a hat, a hair band or even a touch of tinsel to get us into the Christmas spirit.  As always, no one NEEDS to do this.  If your child would rather wear their uniform, that is fine.  We have some jumpers and lengths of tinsel here in school pupils can borrow if they forget.  Please DO NOT go out and buy something especially for this. It is just for fun and should not cost  you any money!

Due to the financial hardship we know many families are facing, we have consciously kept any requests for money to an absolute minimum since the pandemic began, however with Christmas treats, Panto costs, etc. our School Fund is gradually dwindling away.  If you would like to make a contribution, we would welcome a small donation on Friday 10th.  We are suggesting a £1 donation, but any contribution would be gratefully received.

PARENTAL FEEDBACK

Nursery families should have received a questionnaire this week.  We would appreciate you taking the time to complete it and give us some feedback to allow us to continue to improve the service.  Thank you.

LIGHTLAB WORKSHOPS

We are looking forward to taking part in some science experiments on Monday when the LightLab team visit Kirkshaws.  Pupils from Rooms 5, 16 and all of P.5 will have the opportunity to take part throughout the day.

UK PARLIAMENT VISIT

Last week at our Senior Assembly we had the opportunity to learn more about how the UK Parliament operates.  As a special surprise we even had a live link with our MP during his working day!  The wonders of technology!  Many thanks to Mrs King for organising this event.
