The Week Ahead ~ 5 – 9 February
One more week until our mid-term break next weekend. Remember school is closed Monday 12th & Tuesday 13th February. Pupils do not attend on Wednesday 14th either, as this is a teachers’ in-service training day.
Monday night is our next Parent Council Meeting. All parents welcome. Over the next few weeks we will introduce text messaging as a further means of communication with home. Please let the office know if your mobile numbers have changed. Thank you. |

Monday | The Baldy Bain Theatre Company will be in school performing The Journey for P.6 & P.7 pupils. A road safety message, relevant to young people who are becoming more independent.
The Netball League continues this morning, with 10 pupils attending. Two P.7 pupils will attend Coatbridge High School for a rehearsal for their Burns Supper. 3pm – P.4-7 Football, P.1-3 Family Fitness and Cross Country 7pm until 8pm – Parent Council Meeting. All Kirkshaws Parents will be made most welcome. |
Tuesday | INTERNET SAFETY DAY – we will be discussing this in class and at our stage assemblies today.
Two P.7 pupils will accompany Miss Clowes to an Internet Safety Event in Motherwell. They will report back to the school on Friday. We have some vision and teeth health checks taking place in school today. 3pm – P.1-3 Cheerleading & P.5-7 Archery |
Wednesday | Box Soccer, Growth Mindset training continues today for four classes.
After school clubs today: P.4-7 Dance, P.3-7 Knitting & Crochet, P.1-3 Football |
Thursday | Primary 5 continue swimming & sports at The Time Capsule this afternoon.
3pm – P.2-4 Archery, P.5-7 Netball Coatbridge High School celebrate Burns Night tonight, with 2 of our senior pupils taking part. |
Friday | Our Celebration Assembly today will focus on the issues surrounding Internet Safety.
There is a P.6 Maths Challenge at Coatbridge High. A team of 4 pupils have been practising hard…go Kirkshaws! Our Sponsor Event takes place this afternoon. We are looking forward to welcoming a professional athlete to work with us! Remember P.E. kits. After school clubs today: P.1-3 Family Walking Football, P.4-7 Family Detective Club |
While we will continue to welcome pupils into school at any time of the day, late-coming is becoming more of an issue at the moment. I know the bad weather has affected this, so hopefully everyone can get back into their normal routine now. Pupils who miss the start of the lesson can spend hours catching up.
