On Thursday, primary 5/6 demonstrated their knowledge of comparing fractions by creating beautiful fraction drawings using chalk in the playground.

On Wednesday primary 5/6 were exploring friction by seeing how far a toy car would travel on different surfaces. They compared the surface to the various surfaces in New Zealand to determine which one is the best to drive on. They used rulers to measure the distance traveled and compared the results with the class.

P7 presented the Stations of the Cross to the school as part of our learning about Holy Week.

Mrs Byrne’s Makaton Club have been learning to sign some prayers using Makaton. Head on over to our Prayers tab to see videos of our P1-7 representatives demonstrating how to pray with Makaton signing.

Our P7s had a brilliant day at the Cardinal Newman High School Commonwealth Games, taking part in a range of Athletics, Football  and Netball events. They showed real determination and enthusiasm throughout, earning an impressive collection of Gold, Silver and Bronze medals along the way – a wonderful day filled with effort, sportsmanship and pride.

We enjoyed hearing from the Sisters of ‘The Congregation of the Sisters and Our Lady of Mercy’ today. All children were gifted an image of the Merciful Jesus and asked to use this during times of quiet prayer. Thank you to the visiting sisters and Father.
