P1b take part in ‘Ready Steady Cook’
Today P1b participated in the ‘Ready, Steady, Cook!’ challenge by making some delicious leek and potato soup. We thoroughly enjoyed chopping the leeks and parsley and particularly loved tasting the soup once it was ready! The recipe (pictured below) was so easy to follow. We hope Mrs Martin enjoyed the soup. Thank you to Mrs Kelly for all your help.
P5 Have the Lidl Health Factor
Primary 5’s enjoyed taking part in the Lidl Health Factor on Tuesday. On the Lidl Bus they chose 3 different fruits to put in their smoothies and found out that they should only have 200ml of fruit juice or smoothie a day as fruit contains natural sugars. The children also took part in racing games measuring their heart rate before and after the races. We also learnt that we should be doing an hour of exercise a day and eating healthy foods such as fruit and vegetables. Remember to use your £2 voucher to buy some fruit or vegetables and your recipe books to cook some delicious and healthy food!
P6 and P7 Football Festival
P6 and P7 girls and boys participated in a football festival this morning at Broadwood Stadium. They worked hard together and enjoyed the experience in the lovely weather.
The Great P6/7 Potato and Onion Bake Off
As part of the ‘Ready, Steady, Cook Challenge’, P6/7 put their culinary skills to the test today with a potato, onion and bacon bake. The class managed to polish off their portions afterwards so that was a good sign!
