Pupil Committees and Leadership

Pupil Involvement

Our pupils are involved in many aspects of school life and their ideas and opinions are often sought.  All pupils have the opportunity to have their voice heard on matters that impact them and their school.

Our pupils will:

  • set their own targets in Literacy, Numeracy and Health and Wellbeing each term
  • be consulted on the school’s vision and values, and any new initiatives
  • be encouraged to take on various  leadership roles within the class and school

 Pupil Leadership Academies

We run a variety of Leadership Academies which promote citizenship and give pupils responsibilities in a range of areas. The children lead these under the supervision of a nominated staff member. These are mixed-stage groups.

Examples of  Leadership Academy Committees include:

  • Eco Committee
  • Health Committee
  • Gardening Committee
  • Enterprise Committee
  • Global Citizenship Committee
  • Pupil Council

P7 School Captains

All  pupils within the school belong to one of the following 6 houses:

  • Aberdeen
  • Dundee
  • Edinburgh
  • Glasgow
  • Inverness
  • Stirling

Each year all pupils and staff members take part in an election, where 6 children from P7 are elected as captain of a particular house.

Captains’ responsibilities include:

  • running the house point system
  • representing the school at various events throughout the year
  • planning and organising whole school events e.g. Pudsey Day
