Primary 4 enjoyed experimenting with different quantities of the beetroot, carrots, kale, runner beans and radish seeds that we harvested from the garden yesterday and added water to make healthy energy smoothies in class. We had fun tasting the different flavours! Next time we think we’ll add honey to make them more palatable! 😀
The boys and girls went into the community garden today to see what has been growing in the vegetable patches. They were amazed by how many different things had grown over the summer! We tasted some fresh peas, apples and runner beans and plan to make a Nutriblast Smoothie tomorrow with vegetables from the garden. Stay tuned to see if our recipe is successful!
Primary 4 are hoping to enter one of the categories in the Chryston Horticultural Society’s Garden Competition this year. They are to design a garden themed creation using Lego! They had a great time working co-operatively today to try and make a suitable entry. Fingers crossed!
Today, Primary 4 had a go at creating their own Picasso inspired artwork. Here are some of the finished pieces!
Primary 2 have been learning about the different types of measure; Length, Weight and Volume. The boys and girls have practised measuring length and height in centimetres and metres, weight in grams and kilograms and volume in milliletres and litres. They loved using water and sand to help them measure!
The new Primary 4’s enjoyed a team building activity this morning where they had to work together to build the tallest freestanding tower using tape, skewers and marshmallows.
All the boys and girls worked brilliantly together and some teams managed to make a tower over 30cm high! Well done P4, I am excited for our year ahead. Miss O’Neill
Primary 2 had a fabulous time at the celebrations for Glenmanor’s 50th anniversary. They planted cress in the Learning Kitchen and had fun completing the scavenger hunt. Everyone loved the cakes and juice in the picnic area too!
