Just a short note to all parents and carers of S3 pupils. Parents’ Evening takes place on Tuesday the 14th of March from 4.15pm to 6.45pm. We would ask parents not to arrive at the school before 4.00pm due to the volume of traffic as parents and school buses pick up pupils.
Appointment sheets have been issued and we would encourage pupils to spread appointments out so parents have sufficient time to get to each appointment.
Course choice sheets have also been issued to pupils and these must be returned to the office no later that Monday the 20th of March with a note of the 2 subjects being dropped and the required signatures from parents.
Please note the Parent Council Meeting 27/2/17 has been cancelled.
Career Conference Wednesday 22nd February 6.00-9.00.
Drop In Event for all Year Groups & Parents
Dear Parent/Guardian
We are once again holding our extremely successful biennial Careers Conference this year. Present will be over 40 representatives from Employers, Apprenticeship providers, Training Agencies, Colleges, Universities as well as representatives from Skills Development Scotland, the Armed Forces and SAAS
This is a “drop in” event with no formal structure, for pupils and parents. It allows you to find out what opportunities there are after leaving school along with possible entry requirements. It will also allow you to compare one career pathway against another. This type of information proves very valuable when it comes to making Course Choices, which is something that you and your child will do before there will be another Careers Conference held within the school.
You are warmly invited to attend what parents and pupils have told us on previous occasions to be a very interesting and valuable evening.
Invitation to Cumbernauld Mosque Open Day
On behalf of the congregation and trustees of Cumbernauld Mosque I would like to invite you to an Open Mosque Day, to be held on Sunday February 5th. This Connecting Communities event will take place on the Muslim Council of Britain national Visit My Mosque Day 2017.
In the spirit of friendship and conversation we hope to give members of the local community an engaging insight into the life of the mosque and to promote greater understanding of Islam. We anticipate welcoming local people from all walks of life to visit the mosque and meet with its diverse Muslim congregation.
The Islamic Education Trust Cumbernauld has a daily congregation of people and on Friday prayers it attracts more than 100 worshippers. Its unusual play on modern and classical architecture draws visitors from schools and the public throughout the year. The open attitude of the mosque and its people make a major contribution in fostering interfaith and intercultural understanding in the local community.
We would be honoured to have your presence on the day between 12 noon – 5pm. In particular, if you are able to arrive by 1pm we would like to invite you to observe the midday prayer followed by light refreshments and a tour of the building.
Please contact me by telephone or email to confirm your attendance or for further information.
Yours sincerely,
Muhammad Ashraf
Vice Chair
